Scientific Aim
Location Matters addresses a central limitation in thoracic radiotherapy: the heart is not a single homogeneous organ, and the location of dose within cardiac substructures may influence toxicity and survival.
The project combines dosimetry, clinical information, quantitative imaging, and cardiovascular modelling to improve risk stratification for locally advanced lung cancer patients treated with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.
The long-term objective is to support treatment strategies that preserve oncological efficacy while reducing treatment-related cardiovascular risk.
