Oncology Data Science and Medical Physics

Computational oncology and data scienceI am a physicist, qualified medical physicist, and data scientist with more than ten years of experience in oncology research. Since 2015, I have worked within the Data Science Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, developing computational methods to support clinical research and personalised medicine. My work focuses on radiotherapy outcomes, cardio-oncology, treatment-related toxicity, quantitative imaging, and predictive modelling. I am particularly interested in transforming complex clinical and imaging data into interpretable evidence that can support better research questions and more informed clinical decisions. Over the years, I have contributed to multidisciplinary projects and international working groups involving medical physicists, oncologists, cardiologists, pharmacologists, engineers, mathematicians, and data scientists. These activities have included DUE01, REQUITE, RADPRECISE, MIKAPOCo, PerPLANRT, and LOCATION MATTERS. My current research includes cardiovascular risk models, digital twins, imaging biomarkers, and decision-support tools for oncology. I also support research groups and institutions with statistical analysis, scientific content review, data visualisation, and the development of reproducible analytical workflows.
